Aviation adventures are coming your way! EAA Chapter 690 is offering an immersive aviation focused STEM program in our chapter hangar located at the Gwinnett County Airport in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Our 2026 Summer Aviation Camp runs from June 15-19, with a free Young Eagles flight on Saturday, June 20th.
Students in 7th through 12th grades may apply. Sample topics include Aircraft Construction Methods, Principles of Aeronautics, Unmanned Aircraft, Helicopter Flight, and Ground and Flight Instruction. Camp is held 9:00 – 4:00 daily. Students provide their lunches Monday-Thursday, and Friday’s lunch is provided.
The cost for the week is $375 for the Alpha (ages 12 – 13) & Bravo (ages 14 – 15) Camps. The cost of Charlie Camp (for serious students ages 16 – 18 seeking to begin preparations for a private pilot rating) is $575. Applications must be submitted online, and families are encouraged to submit applications as soon as possible. Space is very limited for each of the three groups. There are ten seats in Alpha and Bravo groups. Charlie Camp is limited to four participants.

Our Aviation Focused STEM Summer Camp program has been carefully planned to give a 12-year-old six years of camp experiences. These experiences are provided by EAA 690 and alternatively by the national EAA organization in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Our vision is that a 12-year-old will attend our "Alpha" STEM camp in his/her first year.
At the age of 13, the campers are eligible to attend an Air Academy Camp in Oshkosh. The chapter works hard to help those campers going to Oshkosh with travel expenses, as funds allow.* The national organization also offers Camperships, grants that provide financial assistance,for those attending their camps. If you have a child that you want to send to an Oshkosh Camp, please let us know so we can assist in the process.
When a camper reaches the age of 14, they are ready for our "Bravo" STEM camp and the experiences it brings. At 15 they are eligible to attend Oshkosh for a new Air Academy experience. Upon reaching 16 the camper is ready for our "Charlie" STEM flight training experience, and at age 17 they are eligible to attend Oshkosh once more for their most advanced camp, and the AirVenture experience as well.
* Families of youth who attended Chapter 690 Aviation Summer Camp in 2024 or 2025 can request reimbursement for transportation costs to the 2026 Air Academy. Submit your request for reimbursement by completing this form: Application for Chapter 690 Support for Transportation to Air Academy. Requests will be accepted through May 10, 2026, and families will be notified of decisions by May 17, 2026.
